North Bay - Members of Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) OSSTF, ETFO and other trades union will rally in front of the North Bay Branch 23 Royal Canadian Legion on 150 First Avenue on Tuesday January 15th at 5:30 pm to protest Bill 115.

“Bill 115 strips away education workers democratic collectives bargaining agreements rights" says Henri Giroux President North Bay and District Labour Council.

“We have a right to sit down and negotiate an agreement. What they’re doing is taking away our charter of right. That’s why we will continue to launch a challenge to the Charter of Right” Giroux said.

Workers are under assault by the Liberal government aided by the Conservative government. They are attacking our collective agreement and our right to freely negotiate with our employers.

Tonight we want our MPP Vic Fedeli to help facilitate the process to repeal bill 115.

And let’s be clear. This is not about a wage freeze…this is much worse.

They want to legislate away our rights.

The proposal bill gives Ministers never-ending powers. Workers would face wage freezes and other concessions until the Province balances its books.

Together, workers agreed that we need to push back... And we won’t stop pushing until we have won...

We have to show the government and our employers that we are serious and we will not accept this without a fight. Working together, we can and we will win again.
