Residents from Temiscaming from the Lumsden Dam bridget to Rayonier Advanced Material have their water shut off today for supply line maintenance.

It’s not known exactly when the work will be complete, but when the water turns back on residents are being advised to boil the water before consumption or use until sample tests show it is safe.

“Water that has been boiled for two minutes or bottled water should be used for the following activities until you receive notice to the contrary: drinking and preparing beverages; preparing infant formula and baby food; washing and preparing food that will be eaten raw (fruits and vegetables); preparing food that does not require prolonged cooking (canned soups, desserts, etc.); making ice cubes or brushing teeth or rinsing the mouth,” a municipal notice states.

Unboiled water can be used for washing dishes with hot water (make sure dried well), washing clothes, showering and bathing.

For more information, call 819-627-3273, ext. 104.
