Powassan Voodoos captain Cameron Lemcke tallied twice to help propel his side to a 4-2 triumph over the French River Rapids Friday in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play at Noelville Arena.

The Voodoos opened the scoring nine minutes into the contest off a nice feed from the point by Alex Little found Lemcke in the high slot, who whipped a shot high past French River starter Cole Sheffield.

It stayed 1-0 for the guests until early in the second stanza when Little buried one from the right circle to put Powassan up by a pair with his first NOJHL goal.

Going to the power play, the Rapids got on the board near the midway mark of the match-up as Levi Siau for his 55th league tally as he banged one in from close range during a goal-mouth scramble.

The Voodoos got that back though before the frame was complete as Jacob McLellan was set up alone in front and made no mistake in picking up his first in the league at 18:15.

Moving to the third period, Dominick Godin clicked on the man advantage to bring French River back to within one with seven and a half minutes to play.

However, the Voodoos Lemcke secured the road victory in the final moments with an empty netter to round out the scoring.

Shots on goal finished 39-36 in favour of Powassan with Alex Bugeja getting the win while Sheffield suffered the defeat.

The Voodoos are back on the road tomorrow when they travel north to Kirkland Lake as they take on the Gold Miners.  Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the Joe Mavrinac Community Centre.
