Vandals do the unthinkable to donations in front of Rebuilt Resources

Maureen Brazeau relies on donations for the operation of Rebuilt Resources.

But Tuesday morning the facility had a disturbing discovery at its front door.  Someone had dropped off a bunch of clothing in boxes, but overnight some vandals tore apart the boxes and one individual was seen on security cameras urinating on the donated clothing.

Sadly, it is not the first time dealing with something like this.

"I wish I could say it was uncommon," said Brazeau, chief operating officer at Rebuilt Resources.

"If people want to donate, put it in our hot little hands. Dropping it off at night, during a thunderstorm, you are just dumping. All of this is now wet, broken, and honestly probably peed on. None of this is now reusable and can’t help anyone."

Rebuilt Resources is a second-hand store that employs people with disabilities.

"We are really trying to make everyone happy so please be respectful and patient with us. We are learning just like the rest of the world," Brazeau says noting COVID-19 protocols.

The facility is closed on Sunday and Monday.

It is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a..m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
