An act of vandalism in Sturgeon Falls has caused tens of thousands of dollars damage according to the West Nipissing police.
On sunday May 29th, police responded to complaint of mischief in the Park Street area of Sturgeon Falls.
Upon arrival officers were told that water was leaking into the complainant’s residence.
Police investigated and discovered that the adjacent vacant residence had been entered and vandalized.
The culprit had blocked many of the drains and then turned on many faucets, causing the water to overflow and pool in all areas of the home.
Police estimate tens of thousands of dollars in damage was caused and are requesting anyone with information to call police or crime stoppers.
Meanwhile between May 28th and 30th, the West Nipissing Police Service logged 89 calls for service. Among those were:
- two assaults,
- four break and enters,
- three mischiefs,
- three harassment complaints,
- two domestic disturbances,
- seven thefts, and
- 17 Police assistance calls.
