A tentative deal has been reached reached at Nipissing University.
In a news release,"We are pleased to announce that representatives of the Nipissing University Faculty Association (NUFA) and the University administration have reached a tentative agreement that will allow students to return to classes onMonday, November 30, 2015.
The agreement is subject to ratification by the faculty and the University's Board of Governors. The ratification votes will be scheduled as soon as possible. Further details will be made public once these votes have taken place.
The parties wish to thank the provincially appointed mediator, Greg Long, for assistance with negotiations."
Dr. Mike DeGagne, president and vice-chancellor of Nipissing University will hold a news conference at 10:30 this morning to provide details.
A Facebook post by professor Peter Nosko says "THE STRIKE IS OVER! A meeting that started yesterday morning at 9:00 am and that was only meant to be exploratory, went on all day and through the night until a tentative deal was reached. The picket line has been suspended, email will soon be restored and classes are set to begin on MONDAY. Very relieved for us all."
