A big cheque presentation finished off a successful three-year partnership between Tim Horton’s and Community Living North Bay.

This year, the Smile Cookie Campaign raised $53,088 for the local organization.  Brandon Moffat, a local Tim Horton’s store owner, was pleased with the 2019 fundraising numbers.

“We get a lot of asks and we try to find ones that best fit the program, which ones we can keep the money locally,” said Moffat during a media event at the Community Living North Bay building on Wallace Road.

“We make a three-year commitment that way the dollar amount that you raise is very desirable as opposed to just one year and it’s still desirable now but if you put the pedal to the medal like Community Living did after three years.”

Overall, the Tim Hortons 2019 Smile Cookie campaign raised a record $9.8M in just one week for 550 charities, hospitals and community groups across Canada.

Carnevale says the funds they raised were very important.

“The third year in a row was to be contributed to what we call our capacity-building campaign which means that we consolidated all our admin programs under one roof in hopes of reducing our operating costs so this goes a long way in that expense and will allow us to provide more services to the community in the future,” said Sherry Carnevale,  Executive Director, Community Living North Bay.

Carnevale believes this big cheque is the largest amount they have ever received for a one-time fundraising activity.

Prior to the Community Living North Bay partnership, the Smile Cookie Campaign partnered locally to raise the money for the North Bay Food Bank.
