Manitoulin OPP are investigating after two women reported being sexually assaulted at Manitoulin Country Fest this past weekend.
The OPP were called out to the Country Fest Fairgrounds in Little Current just after 2 a.m. on Aug. 11, responding to a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted and injured in the process.
After speaking with the victim, police said she reported walking back to her campsite when she was assaulted. The woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
While police were on the scene investigating, a second person came forward regarding another alleged sexual assault on a second woman.
Police believe the two cases are linked, and that the same suspect is responsible for both assaults.
OPP are hoping to identify a suspect fitting the following description:
- Young male, approximately 19 years old
- Thin build
- Approximately 5-11
- Dark hair, short on the sides and long on top
