Two women arrested trying to fraudulently buy trucks in Huntsville

A pair of women face numerous charges after a truck was fraudulently purchased from Armstrong Dodge car dealership located on Howland Dr., Huntsville.

On September 28, Huntsville OPP  started a fraud investigation and further investigation revealed that on September 29, a second attempt to fraudulently purchase another vehicle had occurred.

On Friday, October 2, Heather McLean, 39, from Toronto and Brianna Cooper-Steele, 24, from Cambridge were arrested and charged.

Both have been charged with:

  • Fraud over $5,000
  • Use, deal, act on forged document
  • Personation with intent to obtain property, (identity fraud) 
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The women were held in custody and appeared before a bail hearing on October 3.

Both were released with conditions and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Huntsville, on October 21.
