Local OPP have raised their impaired driving charges total to 13 this year.
On April 6 at 7 p.m., officers received a traffic complaint about a vehicle in Mattawa.
Officers stopped it on Highway 17, in Papineau-Cameron Township and arrested the driver.
Mitchell Hatheway, 29, of North Bay, is charged with:
- Operation while impaired - Blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while prohibited
- Two counts of driving while under suspension
- Race a motor vehicle - stunt
Hatheway was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to attend court on June 16 in North Bay.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the drivers' licence was subject to a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.
Shortly after that, officers were dispatched to a collision on Highway 11/17 at O'Brien Street in North Bay.
Officers arrived and arrested one driver at the scene for impaired by drug. The driver was brought to the North Bay Police Service for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert.
Kady Chemery, 34, of North Bay, is charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Careless driving
Chemery was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to attend court on June 16 in North Bay.
The vehicle was also impounded for seven days and the drivers' licence was subject to a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.
