Two people are dead after a collision involving two cars and a tour bus yesterday afternoon on Highway 60, just east of Huntsville between Dwight and Whitney.

OPP say at about 4 p.m. they were called to the entrance to Algonquin Park's west gate. The tour bus did not have any passengers on it at the time of the collision.

Initial investigation showed that a small blue car was heading west on highway 60 when it crossed the centre line striking the bus head-on. The blue car then flipped on the road, striking a small black car.

Two people were confirmed dead at the scene. Their names are being held pending next of kin notification.

Two people were rushed to a local hospital where they were treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

A third person was transported to a Toronto area hospital by ORNGE with serious injuries.

Highway 60 was closed for several hours while Central Region Traffic Collision Investigators worked the scene.

Huntsville and Killaloe OPP, along with Algonquin Highlands Fire, Lake of Bays Fire and Muskoka EMS, helped at the scene.
