Two arrested in Sturgeon Falls robbery

Two people have been arrested and charged, after a robbery and a break-and-enter.

On March 22 shortly after 8 p.m. Nipissing West OPP responded to a robbery at a business on Front Street, Sturgeon Falls.

Someone had stolen some items and when approached by an employee, a club-like object was brandished but no one was injured.

The next morning, March 23, shortly after 6 a.m., police responded to a break and enter at the same business.

As a result, two people have been arrested:

Tyler Crundwell, 30, from West Nipissing, is charged with:

  • Break, enter a place with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • Robbery with theft
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Crundwell was held for bail court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice today in North Bay.

Sarah Demers, 32, from West Nipissing, is charged with, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, May 4 in North Bay.
