to close the Canadian Tire Tube Park over the weekend.

Cold weather and a problem with the tube lift caused the closure, but hill spokeswoman Jennifer McCourt says the lift has been fixed and the park will reopen for Totally Tubular Wednesday Night.

McCourt said the hill has encountered a "seemingly endless string of bad luck and circumstance" which has caused it to be closed, reopened and reclosed over the past few months.

"This has caused a high level of frustration for both staff and the public," McCourt said.

Fresh snow and cold temperatures have created "ideal" conditions on the tube park and main ski hills, McCourt said.

"A busy weekend showed that the community is excited to see the hill open again," stated a news release from Jack Pine Hill.

"Many young dare devils attempted tricks in the newly expanded terrain park which opened for the season last week."

Skiers and riders can take advantage of rails, jumps, a fun box and tabletops at the terrain park, McCourt said, and challenges for various ability levels are provided by different-sized obstacles.

Cheapskates will be sponsoring Snow Wars this weekend, giving boarders and skiers the chance to compete for top standing.
