Truck salvage a success! Highway open

Large cranes were used in the complex recovery operation

Highway 11 north is open again, after a day-long salvage operation yesterday to remove a transport trailer that crashed Sunday.

The highway closed yesterday at 8 a.m.and reopened around 6 p.m.

Two large cranes were used in the complex recovery operation.

Motorists were detoured through Quebec. Highway 11 was closed one kilometre north of Rabbit Lake Road, Temagami, in both directions.

Sunday, shortly before 7 a.m., the driver of a tractor-trailer travelling southbound on Highway 11, lost control. The vehicle ended up in Angus Lake.

A 39-year-old Brampton man was charged with "Fail to drive in the marked lane."

Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Temagami Fire Department and Nipissing District Emergency Medical Service responded to the call.
