Hamilton Bulldogs President & General Manager, Steve Staios announced today the signing of 2022 third round selection, Masen Wray to a Standard Player’s Agreement.

The North Bay product and son of Battalion assistant coach Scott Wray, comes to the Bulldogs from the North Bay Trappers U16 AAA program where the talented forward showed a knack for goal-scoring recording 15 in 23 league games to go along with 8 assists for 23 points.

Wray continued his impressive showing against the province’s best at the OHL Cup hitting the score board three times in four games. Wray, 6’2” 165lbs, also suited up with the NOJHL’s Powassan Voodoos for a game at the junior level in the 2021-22 season and trained with the team throughout the season.

Wray, one of five 2006 birth year players from the U16 AAA Trappers in 2021-22, is excited about the opportunity.

"I am thrilled to sign with the Hamilton bulldogs such an incredible organization in the Ontario hockey league," Wray told BayToday.

"This accomplishment would not have happened if I didn’t have my Trapper teammates from over the past years. It’s time for the next big accomplishment throughout my hockey career and I strongly believe Hamilton will be able to get me to my goal."

Staois, who will have some roster holes to fill after winning the OHL Championship in 2022, is excited about Wray's potential.

“The Hamilton Bulldogs are very excited to receive a commitment from Masen Wray.” said Staios in a release.

“Masen brings a rare blend of size, skating, and skill to Hamilton and we look forward to seeing his development as a leader on the ice and in our community”.
