Residents around the country have been finding unique ways to pay tribute to essential services workers during these tough times.

The busy North Bay bypass sees a lot of transport traffic and someone decided to create a "Thanks Truckers" sign which they anonymously put up inside the window of the pedestrian bridge.

The trucking industry is one of those unheralded essential services that everyone is relying on heavily during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It's one of a number of initiatives that North Bay residents have put forth to show their appreciation for frontline essential services.

Tuesday night the police paid tribute to the hospital workers as a convoy of police cars drove by the North Bay Regional Health Centre to offer their support.

Others have set their alarms for 7:30 p.m. when they are going outside to clang pots as part of a huge cheer for frontline workers.
