North Bay - On March 20, 2014, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) Drug Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle on Highway 11 in the city of North Bay as the result of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation.

As a result of the investigation, officers located a quantity of controlled substances as well as cash with a potential street value of over $10,000.00. 

Geoff McKIERNAN, 44, of New Liskeard was charged with:

•Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA; and with
•Possession of Property Obtained by Crime to wit: Canadian currency, contrary to section 354(1) (a) of the Criminal Code (CC).

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 19, 2014 in North Bay, Ontario.
