Traffic stop leads to cocaine seizure

A 25-year-old Barrie woman is facing drug charges after she was stopped by North Bay Police during a traffic stop on Saturday, April 20.  

Police were investigating a suspicious vehicle along McKeown Avenue in North Bay.  

Police say when they stopped the vehicle, the lone occupant got out of the vehicle and ran.

Police chased the woman and eventually caught and arrested her.  

A search was conducted, which resulted in the seizure of 2.7g of cocaine along with $2625 in cash.

Leeann Stewart, 25 of Barrie has been charged with:  

  • Trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession of a Controlled Drug
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Stewart was released from custody and will appear in the North Bay Courthouse on May 21 to answer to the charges.
