Traffic Stop leads to a drug seizure

A search incident to arrest led to the seizure of one pound of marijuana

A traffic stop led to more than a traffic ticket for a Kipawa, Quebec man. 

The North Bay police pulled over a 25-year-old man along Trout Lake road around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. 

During a conversation between the officer and the accused, the officer formed grounds to arrest the man for Obstruction. 

A search incident to arrest led to the seizure of one pound of marijuana. 

Preston Chevrier, age 25, of Kipawa Quebec is charged with:

  • One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;
  • One count of Obstructing a Police Officer; and
  • One count of Breach of Probation.

The accused was later released from Police Headquarters and will appear in the North Bay Courthouse on August 14th, 2018 in answer to the charges.
