Trade allows former Battalion linemates to reunite

A  pair of former North Bay Battalion teammates will be reuniting in Ottawa. 

On Monday afternoon, the Ottawa Senators traded defenceman Christian Wolanin to the Los Angeles Kings for forward Mike Amadio - allowing Amadio to join Nick Paul in the nation's capital.  

Amadio and Nick Paul finished one-two in Battalion scoring in 2014-15 - their last season together as they combined for 137 combined points that season.  

Amadio's best season with the Troops was in 2015-16 when he registered 50 goals and 48 assists for 98 points.

The Sault Ste. Marie product has 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists) and 26 penalty minutes over 168 NHL games with the Kings, who selected him in the third round (96th overall) at the 2014 NHL draft.

The 24-year-old has registered two assists over 20 games with the Kings this season and two assists over two games with the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Amadio will not be able to join the Senators until next week after the mandatory seven-day quarantine.
