Thieves struck Arnstein Lawn and Garden in the early morning hours of today and hauled off a lot of inventory.

"Sadly last night we had a break in here at Arnstein," says the company's Facebook page. "Our outdoor yard gate locks were cut and merchandise was taken. We are still searching but so far our count is a John Deere tractor with mower deck, as well, 10 snow blowers."

North Bay police are investigating and according to the company they have some helpful and useful information to go with, however Owner David Culin says no video is available.

"We first discovered the garden tractor that we had put a snowblower attachment on for the winter and they actually removed the snowblower and stole the tractor. We have to say it was planned. They didn't have a long time to be in and out," said Culin.

"We are extremely upset that this has happened and is an incredible blow to a small local business. We have insurance but it has a very large deductible on it. It's a big blow for sure."

There have been a rash of equipment thefts lately and John Deere equipment has been targeted at other dealerships. "They pick high end equipment."

Culin is grateful for the support the community has shown today. "People have shown their support and we appreciate that. Some of the product was customer's equipment so we'll be replacing that of course. We'll look after our customers for sure."

Arnstein has built the company largely on customer service.

"It is business as usual here today - thank you for your continued support!"
