TP North Bay looking to get on a roll

“If we can get our numbers way up maybe the clients can get four rolls of toilet paper instead of two rolls, but right now they are still only getting two rolls of toilet paper but every client is getting it now.”

For the third straight year, TP North Bay is hoping to gather a massive collection of toilet paper rolls for a very worthy cause.

Event organizers got the idea from an event that started in Kingston three years ago.  Organizer Ellen Faulkner says so far they receive 288 rolls donated by Best Western which brought their numbers to almost 1,000 on the first day of the launch.

TP North Bay will be taking toilet paper collections from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at various locations tomorrow including Independent Grocer’s and Giant Tiger on Saturday and then pick up’s at the following locations later this month:

  • May 14  Canadian Tire, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • May 21  Walmart 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • May 28  FreshCo 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Faulkner says they are hoping to gather 20,000 rolls this spring with the TP donated to a number of organizations including the North Bay Food Bank.

A big toilet paper haul will allow for more toilet paper to be given out to needy families at the North Bay Food Bank.

“If we can get our numbers way up maybe the clients can get four rolls of toilet paper instead of two rolls, but right now they are still only getting two rolls of toilet paper but every client is getting it now,” said Faulkner.
