Officials are pleased with the Tourism Northern Ontario summit which brought over 325 participants to Sault Ste. Marie last week.

“I was thrilled with the success of this year’s Northern Ontario Tourism Summit. Not only did we surpass the number of attendees from last year, we were also able to host a product development symposium and offer pre and post summit training opportunities geared specifically for Northern Ontario tourism operators" president of TNO, Marty Kalagian said.

Highlights of the event included a presentation by the Honourable Minister Bill Mauro, who stopped in Sault Ste. Marie to talk to attendees about the spring bear hunt and recent changes to the distribution of moose tags in the North.

Sudbury will play host to the 2016 Northern Ontario Tourism Summit next fall.
