Tonight's air show cancelled

Safety is paramount to organizers

The weather held off this morning, but this evening's air show has been cancelled by bad weather.

"Due to inclement weather forecasted for Armed Forces Day, the evening event that was scheduled for Wednesday, June 13th, 2018, starting at 6:30 p.m. has been cancelled," says a news release from Capt Leah Pierce, Public Affairs Officer. 

"As safety is paramount to organizers, the decision was made to protect the public, volunteers and the Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks and CF-18 Demonstration Team."

Environment Canada says to expect a few showers ending overnight then cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers. Risk of a thunderstorm early this evening. Winds southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming northwest 30 gusting to 50 early this evening.
