Update:
Witnesses tell BayToday that the police report is inaccurate and that it was actually a man and a woman that stepped in to help. The woman was struck and fell to the ground.

A pair of good Samaritans were the victims of assault yesterday afternoon after they came to the aid of someone else.
Police say the attacker was on the 200 block of Main Street East when he became involved in a fight with a man on the sidewalk. Two men who were in the area tried to help and were also assaulted.
One man required medical attention.
Police arrested a man a short time after without incident.
They charged Kyle Mischuk, 32, of North Bay with:
- two counts of assault; and
- assault causing bodily harm
Mischuk is in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
