Three charged after OPP find indoor grow-op

PAPINEAU-CAMERON TWP - On March 27, 2013 the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau North Bay Drug Enforcement Unit supported by the Ontario Provincial Police Mattawa Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police Canine Unit, and the Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a Papineau-Cameron Township residence.

As a result of the investigation an indoor cannabis marihuana growing operation was located. 168 cannabis marihuana plants, cannabis marihuana, and cannabis resin were seized during the investigation. Also seized were offence related property and 3 firearms. Three individuals were arrested and charged.

The street value of the drugs seized is $174,408.00.

CHARGED IS:

Charlene CHICQUEN age 44, of Calvin Township

· Production of Schedule II drug contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act X 2

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

· Possession of Marijuana contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

· Possession of Cannabis Resin contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

· Careless Use of Firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

· Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

CHICQUEN was released on a Promise to Appear and will make her first appearance in Mattawa on May 8, 2013.
