Third person dies after last week's collision

A third person, a passenger in one of the vehicles was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries

OPP say a third person has died after a two-car collision on Highway 17 Jan. 4th claimed two other lives.

The drivers of both vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third person, a passenger in one of the vehicles was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

He is identified as Eugene Boron, 83, of Bonfield.

The other two victims were also Bonfield residents. They were identified as a man, Stephane Terbovc, 27, and a woman, Gertrud Boron, age 80, the wife of Eugene. The couple had been married for 60 years.

The accident occurred just after 7 a.m. on Highway 17, west of Dube Road in East Ferris. A westbound passenger car and an eastbound passenger car collided head-on. 

OPP Technical Traffic Collison Investigators and an officer utilizing the OPP drone, assisted with the investigation. The Municipality of East Ferris Volunteer Fire Department and Nipissing Paramedic Services also attended the scene. 

The accident closed the highway to traffic.

The investigation is continuing at this time.
