Author Brit Griffin kicks off an Ontario book tour in New Liskeard on April 28 with the release of her second novel, The Wintermen II: Into the Deep Dark.

She'll also be reading and signing May 24, at the North Bay Public Library, 6:30 p.m.

Into the Deep Dark is the second in Griffin’s eco-catastrophic adventure series The Wintermen and promises to take readers on a thrilling ride through a dystopic North, with a gang of strange characters fuelled by adrenalin and gut instincts.

Johnny Slaught and his ragtag group of climate change refugees are just trying to survive in a North plunged into endless winter. But Johnny’s world is about to be rocked by the most ancient menace of all – human greed. The beast of winter is knocking at his door and has slicked back hair, a sheep-skin coat, and a pump action.

Inspired by her Northern Ontario surroundings, Griffin has set her novel into a future where lawlessness is the only constant in life.

“Brit has created rich characters with unique personalities in a landscape most northerners can imagine. In her second novel, we meet those same characters and she takes us through yet another showdown. Readers will be drawn to both the good and bad!” says Heather Campbell, publisher, Latitude 46 Publishing.

Griffin was the founder of Highgrader Magazine and works as a researcher with an Algonquin community in north-west Quebec. The Wintermen was shortlisted for the 2016 Northern Lit Award for Fiction.

Books can be purchased at Chapters Indigo, Amazon, and select independent bookstores across Canada and the United States or through Latitude 46 Publishing online store www.latitude46publishing.com.
