The Longest Morning

The Crew at the EZ Rock Morning Show gave new meaning to a long morning following a 53-hour marathon radio event in aid of the Rotary Club of North Bay.

The event pulled in just over $79,000, and although as Jamie said she was very tired, she was quite surprised to still have marital bliss with Dan following the no sleep radio shift.

“I’m very tired and I get down right nasty without sleep, but we didn’t fight.”

When they were approached to continue the event in the footsteps of former morning man, Scott Clark, Jamie said she wasn’t sure about the lack of sleep aspect of the event, but in the end decided if they did it in the past how hard could it be.

“The hardest part was during a stretch last night (Wednesday) when the Pledges had slowed down and I could feel the eyes closing and that is when I new it was time to go outside and get some fresh air,” states Jamie.

“We had massages, played games and watched ‘The Incredibles’ to stay awake.”

Jamie said that meeting some of the kids from NADY a group that benefits from the event, helped energize the morning crew to surpass last year’s $54,000 plus raised.

“They are what it is all about.”

As the saying goes ‘no rest for the wicked’ Dan and Jamie will be back on the air Monday morning.
