The local company that created the iconic feather logo clothing line appears to be no more in North Bay.

The Escape Movement, which started its unique clothing brand in North Bay back in 2010 is closing its Northgate Shopping Centre store on August 25.

“Well, this is a post I have not been looking forward to making but The Escape Movement will be closing the doors for good on Sunday, August 25,” stated owner Andrew Morrison via social media over the weekend.

The Escape Movement has already started its closing sale.

“Thanks everyone for the nine years of love and support. It was truly a gift to be able to make a living doing what I love to do. I will be forever grateful for all the good times and incredible people I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with along the way,” he continued.

“The Escape Movement will always be #FromNorthBayWithLove.”

Morrison first expressed the financial concerns over his local clothing brand back in July of 2018 when he created a video explaining his challenges. He stated back then that bankruptcy was a possibility by the end of 2018.

Last year, Morrison had purchased high-end print screening equipment in hopes of creating a manufacturing division with the goal of continuing to grow the clothing brand manufactured entirely in Northern Ontario.
