Here's something else to do in Mattawa during Voyageur Days.

Action’s School of Fitness and Arts has announced the 5th annual LIVE Thai-Boxing  Event to be held in Mattawa, Saturday July 23.  The event will be held at the Mike Rodden Arena and Community Centre, 450 Hurdman Street.  Doors open at 1 pm and the first bout starts at 2pm.

The afternoon will feature non-stop action with a 13 bout card which includes four Quest for the Voyageur Title belts.  Hometown Boy Justin Condie will compete in the co-main event against Todd Elvrum of TMAC, Timmins Ontario and North Bay’s Josh Beaton will go against Jeff Brown of Peterborough for the Main Event 175 lbs Muay-Thai Division.

"This is a fun family friendly event that is sanctioned by the World Kickboxing Federation and fully supported by the Corporation of the Town of Mattawa as an event of municipal significance.  Please come and support your local Thai-Boxing/MMA club and athletes who are training very hard in order to compete in front of their family and friends," says a news release.

“Mattawa Voyageur Days is pleased to have this event as part of the total festival package of amazing programs” says Jacques Begin Co-Chair Mattawa Voyageur Days.

Tickets cost $30 in advance or $35 at the door which is a great value and covers the 13 bout card.  Children 10 and under are free. Authentic Thai Food will be sold and tickets for sale at Mattawa Petro (Crevier) in Mattawa, by text at 249-358-0470 or from any of our athletes.
