Tell us. What was the local 'Story of the Year?'

Was it the homeless, or COVID, school closing or other stories. You be the judge.

There were a lot of big stories in our coverage area in 2020, so now we're asking for your help. Put on your cub reporter's cap and cast your vote.

What do you think was the biggest story of the year? Last year it was Canadore abuse allegations voted 2019 top news story.

Overall, with 2,129 votes cast, the ongoing sexual harassment and abuse scandal at Canadore College picked up 736 votes or 35 per cent of the total.

Things to consider may be the impact it had on the people that live here. Was it sustained or just a quick one-off. How much public interest did it garner? Did it shed light on wrong-doing? Who was the hero/goat? Were there other considerations that played a role?

At BayToday, we wrote over 4,000 local stories in 2020, some big, some small.

Now it's up to you.

Take our poll now by going here. It's on our front page.

Here are your choices. Which one was your choice as "Story of the Year?" We may have missed one or two but you can add them in the comments section.
