Original story:

OPP are asking boaters to stay clear of a search area in Peninsula Lake, east of Huntsville, as they look for a swimmer missing since yesterday evening.

Police responded at 5 p.m. Monday to a report of two missing swimmers.

They found a woman in a boat who said that her husband and son had gone in for a swim.

"The wind had picked up and the boat floated away from the two," said Cst. Lynda Cranney. "She was unable to get the boat started, and immediately called 911 for assistance."

Sometime after the initial search, the son was found by boaters in the area and taken to shore. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Huntsville Fire marine, Huntsville OPP Marine Unit, and CFOPP continued searching for the father until near dusk.

Huntsville detachment members along with Underwater Search and Recovery Unit returned to resume the search early this morning.

Huntsville and Lake of Bays fire departments, and Muskoka EMS also assisted.
