Swarming leads to charges

The North Bay Police Service has laid charges in relation to a swarming which took place July 27 near a primary school in the city.

The swarming is directly linked to a previous racially motivated which took place on the same day during a basketball game and on Aug. 10 outside a home on Ski Club Roadd.

A group of between four and 10 people surrounded a teenage male victim and assaulted him. These injuries were minor in nature.

Detective constables Jim Warren and Tina Murphy arrested one man Aug. 26 in relation to the swarming incident while conducting an investigation into the above matters

Daniel TURGEON, 19, of no fixed address, is charged with assault and was kept in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
