Swarm story concocted

The Youth Bureau of the North Bay Police Service will be examining the circumstances behind a false report filled by a 14-year-old city male.

The male had told police he and some friends had been swarmed Tuesday by a large group of youths, who then stole his $2,500 mountain bike.

Police said today the male had filed a false report and that the incident had not, in fact, taken place.

The Youth Bureau will investigate the situation and the youth to determine if charges should be laid.
