A rally is planned for Friday as officials with the Nipissing Full-Time Academic Staff Bargaining Unit welcome support from across the province on Friday.

The full time faculty are striking over university staffing levels, fair pay, and shared decision-making.

Supporters are expected to arrive from across Ontario and around the country as the 173 members approach the five day mark of the Strike which officially began at 12:01 a.m. on Monday.

The Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) Defence Fund is expected to hand over a cheque for $1 million in support of the NUFA strike fund.

The event is expected to begin at noon on Friday.
