The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 38-year-old Ottawa-area man yesterday in North Bay.

The SIU say around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, emergency medical services called the North Bay Police for assistance at an apartment building located at 365 Lakeshore Drive in North Bay.

According to the SIU, the police located the 38-year-old man near the building.

Then about an hour later the SIU report indicates the man fell from the building to the ground below where he was pronounced dead.

“Three investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to investigate this incident,” the SIU stated in a release this morning.

The post-mortem is scheduled for tomorrow in Sudbury.

The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529 ext. 2038.
