The Powassan Voodoos battled back from a 2-1 second period deficit to pull out a 5-2 victory over the Soo Eagles at the NOJHL Showcase at Countryside arena in Sudbury on Tuesday.

The Eagles' Kenny Belanger opened the scoring midway through the opening frame but the Voodoos netted the equalizer on screen shot from the point by Alex Little for his second tally of the season on a power play.

The Eagles regained the lead early in the second period on a Nolan Hendry goal.  The Voodoos fought back again as Mathieu Savignac banged home his first NOJHL goal less than two minutes later.

It stayed that way until early in the third period when Ryan Patrick slipped one past Eagles goalie Reid Ramsay for the eventual game winner.

The Voodoos got into penalty trouble late in the third but Liam Serviss netted a highlight real shorthanded goal with over five minutes remaining to make it 4-2 Voodoos.

Patrick added insurance with a long empty-net goal with under two minutes to play to seal the win.

Daniel Dirracolo was solid in goal for the Voodoos making 25 saves for the win as the Voodoos improve to 6-3 on the season.

The Voodoos are back in action Wednesday afternoon when they take on the Sudbury Cubs.  Puck drop is 4:15 p.m. at Countryside arena in Sudbury.
