North Bay police have arrested a man for assault

Police have charged a man with assault after a King St. resident was attacked on their own property Friday afternoon.

On December 2, officers responded to a report that a victim had been accosted by a stranger who repeatedly referred to the victim by an incorrect name and refused to leave the victim’s property.

A fight between the accused and victim ensued, after which the stranger left the area.

The accused was located by police at 1 p.m. the same day at the intersection of Third Avenue West and Cassells Street where he was arrested and charged.

"The victim did not sustain physical injuries," say police.

Michel John Murphy, 26, of North Bay,s charged with:assault.

Murphy was held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
