'Stay inside' city police warn Ski Club Road residents

The police action is taking place in the 700 block.

Police say the incident on Ski Club Rd, has been resolved. "There will continue to be a police presence in the area, but there is no longer a threat to public safety," NBPS added on Twitter.

Police told Ski Club Road residents to remain in their homes because of an ongoing incident in the area early this afternoon.

The police action is took place in the 700 block, near the intersection of Riddle Ct. and Ski Club Road.

A witness says it involves a male neighbour and a firearm, possibly a handgun. 

The incident started around 1:30 p.m. At least five police cruisers were on-scene. Paramedics were also on-scene but have since left.

Police confirmed around 3:15 p.m. that the situation has been resolved, and a man is in custody. 

"There is no shelter in place any longer," David Woolley, Corporate Communications Officer for the Police Service told BayToday.  

"There are still moving parts on our end." 

Woolley also says the Special Investigation Unit has been called in to investigate.  

The Police say despite the reports of a gunshot, no firearms were discharged during the incident. 

Neighbourhood residents were concerned during the incident as they say things like this never happen in this area.
