Spring snowstorm predicted

Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are expected by Monday morning

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it appears old man winter is taking a last kick at the can.

A special weather statement has been issued for:

  • North Bay - West Nipissing,
  • Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet
  • Huntsville - Baysville, 
  • Deep River - Whitney - Eastern Algonquin Park,
  • Town of Parry Sound - Rosseau - Killbear Park

A late season snowfall is possible Sunday and Sunday night. Periods of snow beginning late in the afternoon. High plus 2

Snow associated with an approaching low-pressure system is expected to move into the region late Sunday morning or afternoon.

Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are expected by Monday morning. Local blowing snow overnight Sunday. Wind becoming north 30 km/h gusting to 60 in the evening.

The highest snowfall amounts are expected over the higher terrain of Algonquin Park and may require a snowfall warning.

Motorists are advised to prepare for potentially hazardous travel conditions Sunday and Sunday night.
