OPP have investigated several car/deer collisions on area highways recently so they remind motorists to drive with caution and follow these safety tips:

- Use caution if driving at dawn and dusk, when deer are most active and visibility is poor

- The risk of deer/vehicle collisions is greatest during spring, autumn and early winter

- Slow down when approaching deer standing on the side of the road. Deer may "bolt" or change direction at the last minute

- Deer often travel in groups, if you see one, expect more
