Two people were arrested after an assault at a residence in Callander.

On March 28, shortly after 9 a.m. the Powassan Detachment of the OPP arrived at the home after receiving a tip that an assault had taken place.

The victim had received minor injuries in the assault.

The accused was found at a residence in North Bay. An arrest warrant was required to take the individual into custody, says Constable Nathalie Muirhead.

A 35-year-old from Callander was arrested and charged with spousal assault.

A second person, a 60-year-old from North Bay, was also arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer.

Both were released and are set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay in April.

Police say no further information will be provided to protect the identity of the victim.
