Sock Hop

It was a moment in time Friday night as 550 people attended a weekend Sock Hop at West Ferris Arena and rekindled their inner teenager.

Dave Georgei, a concerned citizen, along with the help of good friends organized the weekend event in an effort to raise funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Children's Treatment Centre.

The event offered folks a chance to dig out their poodle skirts, hula-hoops and leather jackets to enjoy a dance party while enjoying authentic sounds of the 50's and 70's.

Featured onstage were Canada's premier 50's rock and roll band "Freddy Vette & The Flames" and "Jeff Young and the Muskoka Roads Band".
