Sobering arrest

A 22-year-old North Bay man has been charged after being arrested for allegedly stealing a car and driving it while impaired.

The incident took place Tuesday night around 11:30 when two alert North Bay Police Service constables, Jason Long and Melanie Prevost observed an impaired driver on Algonquin Avenue. They stopped the vehicle and discovered it had been stolen from a downtown parking lot.

Patrick Leonard Martin, of Robarts Avenue, is charged with impaired driving, theft over $5,000, three counts of breach of probation and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system. He was held for a bail hearing.
