Snowmobiler hospitalized after hitting a rock

A snowmobiler who hit a rock while riding a trail Saturday is in the hospital with serious injuries.

Almaguin OPP say the accident happened around  7 p.m.

The collision occurred on a bush trail on Spry Lake. 

The driver, Robert Wolfe, 35 of Mitchell Ontario was passing another snowmobile when his sled collided with the rock. Wolfe suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by EMS.

The Almaguin Highlands OPP, Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services and both Kearney and Perry Township Fire Departments went to the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate.
