UPDATED VIDEO: Snowmobile bursts into flames

The homeowner tried to use snow to extinguish the fire but was unsuccessful

A snowmobile apparently not even running, burst into flames in the owner's driveway Saturday afternoon.

At around 2 p.m. Station 3 responded to a report of a snow-machine on fire on a trailer at 47 MacDonald Ave. in West Ferris.

The homeowner, who had just bought the used machines, noticed smoke and flames coming from the engine and tried to use snow to extinguish the fire but was unsuccessful. Pump 3 arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.

The fire has caused extensive damage to the snow-machine and is a total write-off. There is also significant damage to a second snow-machine.

No cause has been determined, but it is not considered suspicious.

Thanks to Neil Brown for the video.
