Environment Canada has changed its snowfall watch to a snowfall warning for::

  • North Bay - West Nipissing,
  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity,
  • New Liskeard - Temagami,
  • Témiscaming area, Que.

A freezing rain warning is also in effect for Bruk's Falls and Huntsville. Significant freezing rain is expected this afternoon into the overnight hours.

Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

Significant snow Monday afternoon and night.

A Colorado low is forecast to cross the lower Great Lakes for the start of the work week.

Snow is forecast to spread across portions of Northeastern Ontario beginning near midday on Monday.

The snowfall will become heavier Monday afternoon and Monday night. Significant accumulations of 15 to 20 centimetres are likely by the time the snow tapers off on Tuesday. Local blowing snow may also develop Monday afternoon and Monday night.

Ice pellets may also mix in with the snow Monday night for several hours, particularly for areas from Manitoulin Island towards North Bay. This may limit snowfall accumulations in these areas somewhat.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for taillights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
