As of 9:05 PM EDT Wednesday, Environment Canada continued a special weather advisory for North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa and West Nipissing - French River

Snowfall continuing tonight, likely changing to rain overnight from Manitoulin Island through North Bay and southward.

Snow associated with a weather system tracking towards Georgian Bay continues over much of Northeastern Ontario.

Snowfall warnings have been issued for regions where 15 cm or more are expected.

In the Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls region, snowfall amounts are forecast to be just below the 15 cm per 12 hour warning criterion.

For the area from Manitoulin Island through Killarney to North Bay and southward, total snowfall amounts in the 10 to 15 cm range are also likely.

However this area will see a transition to rain overnight, with an additional 10 to 15 mm of rain possible on Friday.

As of 5:27 PM EDT Wednesday, Environment Canada continued a special weather advisory for North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa and West Nipissing - French River

Snow at times heavy today and tonight.

A developing weather system will track towards Ontario today. Snow associated with this system has spread into Northeastern Ontario.

Snowfall warnings have been issued east of Lake Superior from Montreal River to Kirkland Lake where 15 or more cm is likely and the heaviest snow will occur this evening.

Snowfall amounts are forecast just below warning criteria for the Timmins region but a snowfall warning for 15 cm in 12 hours is possible.

For areas from Sault Ste Marie through to North Bay and southward the snow may be heavy at times today as well.

Total snowfall amounts across this swath are likely to be in the 10 to 15 cm range by Friday morning.

This same area will see a transition to rain overnight, with a risk of brief freezing rain during the transition.

Rainfall amounts with this low pressure system will be in the 10 to 20 millimetre range.

Rainfall warnings are unlikely however the situation will be monitored.

As of 10:01 PM EDT Wednesday, Environment Canada continued a special weather advisory for North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa and West Nipissing - French River

Snow at times heavy spreading toward Northeastern Ontario by Thursday morning.

A developing weather system will track towards Ontario on Thursday.

Snow associated with this system will spread into Northeastern Ontario overnight and become heavier Thursday evening.

Snowfall warnings have been issued east of Lake Superior from Montreal River to Gogama where 15 cm is likely and the heaviest snow will occur Thursday evening.

Snowfall amounts are forecast just below warning criteria for Timmins and for the Kirkland Lake - New Liskeard - Temagami regions but may exceed 15 cm in 12 hours and snowfall warnings may be required.

There will be a transition to rain over southern sections, from about Sault Ste Marie through North Bay and southward on Thursday night, with a risk of brief freezing rain during the transition.

Rainfall amounts with this low pressure system will be in the 10 to 20 millimetre range and rainfall warnings will not likely be issued however the situation will be monitored.
