AEFO is cancelling its provincial walkout this Thursday, February 27, because of the heavy snowfall being forecasted in many regions of Ontario.

In a news release, the union says, "This cancellation has nothing to do with bowing down to the demands of the government and the school boards, and everything to do with ensuring AEFO members’ safety on picket lines. The effectiveness and safety of picket lines could also be compromised, such as icy sidewalks and unplowed sites, which could result in unsafe picketing."

AEFO is scheduled to negotiate on Friday with the government and the Employer Bargaining Agency, representing all 12 French-language school boards.
